Simplicity 1463

Whilst I was blogless I was still sewing regularly and this is one of the things I made which has become a real favourite – Simplicity 1463

I made view C but I used the same fabric throughout.  This is a real value-for-money pattern – so many different options to play with.

The fabric is a lovely viscose jersey from Fabric Godmother with the perfect summer print of blue swallows.

The gathered back panel adds some nice interest along with the pointed hems to make this more than just a regular t-shirt.  The neckband looks a little bit stretched out here,   I still need to improve on that technique.

Because I made this before the move and I wasn’t thinking about blogging I don’t have many details about the sewing process but I can remember that I didn’t have to make any alterations at all.  It’s supposed to be loose and drapey so that makes fitting easy.

I think I will make this again and try the contrast sleeves, I also really like the back of view B.

I got interrupted in my posing here resulting in an ‘action’ shot.  I might try to do this on purpose next time, it’s nice to see how the clothes look when you’re moving isn’t it?

I have this pattern and was very happy to see it made. I’m making the sleeveless version. But need to finish up some kid sewing first!
